MRS ANNA AMAJU AKO- Director of Education

Mrs. Anna Amaju Ako, Director of Education was born on the 30th September 1960in Lagos Island in Lagos State.

She attended Anglican Girls’ Primary School, Surulere between 1966 -1971 and Girls’ Secondary Grammar School, Bariga between 1972 – 1976 for her secondary Education.

She proceeded to Federal School of Arts and Science, Ondo for her higher School Certificate between 1977 – 1978.

She later proceeded to University of Lagos, Akoka in 1978. Where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education in 1997 and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration in 1998.

She started her career in Lagos State in Ilupeju Secondary School in April 1984 to September, 1996 as a she subject teacher.

In September 1996, she was posted to Estate Grammar school, Ilupejuas a subject teacher. She rose to the post of a Head of Science Department.

In October 2001, she was transferred to Eletu Odibo Junior High School. She served as a Year Tutor until Dec. 2002 when she was given a duty post as a Vice Principal in Birch freeman Senior High School, Surulere

In May 2008, she became a principal in Archbishop Aggey Memorial Senior Secondary School Mushin.

In October 2009 she was deployed Army children Senior High School, Ikeja Cantonment as a Principal. There she was given an award as the 2nd Best Principals in Ikeja Zone in 2010.

In 2011 during the 2010 District VI Award she got the Best Principal in Ikeja Zone.  She became a Director in 2011.

In October, 2011, she was redeployed to Babs Fafunwa Millennium Senior Grammar School on merit as an Award winner.

In 2013, she also got the best Principal in the zone and the 3rdBest in the District.

In August 2015, she was redeployed to state Senior high School, GRA, Ikeja as the Principal.  She occupied this position until August 2nd 2016 when she was transferred to Education District 1.

Shortly after her transfer to Education District 1, she was appointed as the Head of Schools Administration Department.

She is a fellow of institute of Educational Management and Administration of Nigeria (2004). She got the outstanding Educationist Award – (African Education monitor July 2014).
